Bible Study Wednesday - 7 January 2015 @ 7PM

The subject is the doctrines of the Bible.  "Oh no, not more doctrine" you say.  Well the word of God tells us that we must teach sound doctrine (Titus 2:1).  We are also told that anyone who teaches false doctrine is conceited and does not understand anything (1 Tim 6:3-4).  How are we going to know if we are hearing false doctrine unless we study and know what God says about it in His word.  So join us tonight at the rectory as we learn together.  Remember, we are told that all scripture is God breathed, and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2Tim 3:16-17).  Come and equip yourself.  Oh!, and the coffee is “lekker” too.

Humility goes with love and obedience

Leviticus 19:18

“‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

What is seeking revenge other than pride.  Its all about poor little old me.  I have been offended.  My pride has been hurt.  But we are commanded to  "not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people", instead we must love our neighbour as ouselves.

Jesus showed us the way, He was slandered and tortured and crucified.  His response was not revenge, He did not bear a grudge.  His response was "forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

And finally, we are told that our sins will be forgiven as we give those who sin against us.  So be humble, and remember our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

We have a mighty God!

2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

If you have faith in Jesus Christ the God of the universe, He will protect you and give you the strength to face any challenge this world can throw at you.  He provides you with the body of Christ to support you in the time of need, His scriptures will comfort you in times of spiritual trials, and He promises that you will never be tempted beyond what you can bear, and even then He will provide a way out.  He is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Sunday Sermon 4th of January 2015

Sunday morning's sermon in the book of Deuteronomy 22:1-4 was about the fact that God requires us to love one another and to actually listen to Him. Or obey Him. I am trying to find a way to put the MP3 file here for your listening homework.

Remeber "Each One Reach One".
